Appearance: Tall brunette who usually wears her hair in a ponytail. She is known to usually wear pants or shorts, but on special occasions, such as her sailor fuku, she wears a skirt or dress. Her sailor fuku is dark green with pink bows and in both civilian and senshi form, she wears pink rose earrings.

History: Makoto Kino has lived by herself, and fended for herself, for quite a long time. This is due to the fact that she lost her parents at a very early age. She is not one to easily accept help from others, nor is she one to keep her mouth shut when she feels something isn't right. Makoto is a very independent and tough woman, though she has a soft side when it comes to the friends that she considers family, and the fact that she is slightly feminine, but never admits it.

Makoto found her four best friends at the age of fourteen, when she transferred schools because of being kicked out for violence. Though she hasn't seen her friends since they graduated from high school, she does see them from time to time on special occasions.

Makoto has been very successful since high school graduation. She graduated at the top of her class at a culinary college and opened up a bakery. Though she still has a love for plants, she opened up a bakery so that she could keep her gardening as a side hobby. Makoto now only has one thing she is looking for. A relationship. Though this is unlikely to happen, she has other matters to attend to that keep her busy, such as protecting her princess and awaiting for Crystal Tokyo.

• Makoto often cleans and cooks when she is feeling sad, angry, or bored.
